4.24.03,

Congratulations go to Terence Morris for graduating the AFF Course this past Sunday.

We’d like to welcome Mike Davidson back as a weekend AFF/Tandem Instructor, Coach and Relative Work Cameraflyer and I am pleased to say he and Robin will be making regular appearances at Skydive Delmarva again this season. Robin along with Sarah Wright has accepted the position(s) of Birthday & Awards Night Party coordinator(s). So, those of you who would like to assist them and/or inform them of your or your friends upcoming birthdays and/or awards can do so by getting together with them at the DZ or emailing them (please copy both) at Sarah Wright, boofsu@yahoo.com - Robin Davidson, Robin.freefall@verizon.net

While we are on the subject of Birthdays, mines today and I will be available at the DZ this weekend to accept all the gifts you are sure to want to lavish on me! ;-)

I am pleased to announce that our calendar for Tandem & AFF Students is beginning to look pretty healthy for so early on in the year and that already, besides the weekend student bookings our weekday reduced rate offers are drawing a lot of interest and this bodes well for those experienced skydivers who are able to come on out and take advantage of our $13,00 Wednesdays & $15.00 Fridays! Please remember that even on weekdays, unlike many other operations, we will as always be flying and jumping from our Twin Otter. If you’ve never been up in a lightly loaded Twin Otter, weekdays are the time to experience such a flight at Skydive Delmarva! Of course beside Friday’s, Saturday & Sunday Early Bird and Sunset Sunday loads are another great way to stretch your skydiving dollars and make $15.00 jumps at your favorite DZ!

4.14.03,

Congratulations go to Kevin Harriford on Graduating the AFF Program on Saturday (have you stopped grinning yet Kevin ;-).

Skydive Delmarva would like to welcome new Staff Member Jeff Limna to our operation. Jeff who has several hundred Skydives will be our primary full time packer and will be helping out generally around the DZ this season.

Despite the winds this past weekend we managed to get jumps in both Saturday and Sunday with the most loads flown being on Sunday (The Twin Otter flew all day)! The sunny Sunday weather also brought several old Skydive Delmarva faces that we haven’t seen for a while out to the DZ, as well as a few new ones and our community is beginning to reform and grow this season!

Our student schedule calendar is beginning to look quite healthy already, despite how early it is in the season. We are already flying on weekdays and this I’m sure is due to the preferential weekday rates available to first jump AFF & Tandem Students, who book on weekdays as opposed to weekends. This is great news for our experienced jumpers as it provides us an opportunity to offer them also, cheaper jumping if they come out and skydive on weekdays. We offers $13 Skydives on Wednesdays for upjumpers and Friday skydives are $15.00. As always things can change rapidly at this time of the year and we may receive several additional student bookings for the weekdays between my writing this message and you reading it. Of course, things can also change the other way with cancellations or bad weather appearing, so, as always before departing on a long journey you are advised to call manifest and make sure that things are set before driving out, as much as we wish to see you here we don’t want you to waste your leisure time on needless travel!

Please Note: Even though we accept walk in business it is always advisable to call ahead and check that we are able to cater to your unscheduled business and/or large group size before traveling a long distance. Current or pending weather conditions, as well as the staff to student ratio for the scheduled business we have on any given day is a large factor in whether or not we will be able to cater to your needs. As always we will do our very best to make your trip a worthwhile and fun filled experience and appreciate your co-operation in allowing us to do so!

4.5.03,

4.4.03,

NEW STAFF!
Skydive Delmarva would like to welcome new staff arrivals for the 2003 summer season, USPA Multi-Rated Australian Instructor Ashley Easdon-Smith & his American born wife Celeine, who will be doing duty as a Manifestor & Admin Assistant. Ashley has been jumping since 1979 and has worked within the skydiving industry for 15 years. He has 2,900+ total jumps- including 710 AFF & 1000 Tandems. Celeine is a graduate jumper from last season with 30 jumps total who’s goal this summer at Skydive Delmarva is to reach 300 Jumps. We feel that Ashley and Celeine will further add to the fun and international flavor of our operation and we welcome the opportunity to have much fun and make milestone jumps with them both this season! We have other new staff arriving over the next several weeks and feel that this season is truly going to bring a major step forward in the skydiving opportunities and fun to be had for jumpers at Skydive Delmarva this season!

AWARDS & BIRTHDAY PARTY NIGHTS!
This season at Skydive Delmarva we will be holding monthly Skydiving Awards (and gag awards) and joint Birthday Parties on the 2nd Saturday of each month for all jumpers whose birthdays fall within the Month. Those who have awards due should apply to USPA (or other organization) for them and have them sent direct to Martin Evans at PO Box 218, Laurel, DE 19956. The first Awards & Birthdays Party will be held May 10th 2003 and include all those who’s birthdays fall within the months of January, February, March, April & May (everybody please inform manifest, in person or by email, of your birth date in order for us to celebrate your birthday)! Those who wish to throw an Award or Birthday celebration for their friends at the DZ (and who wouldn’t?) should co-ordinate through the Party Organizer (who at present is Martin, although this position is up for grabs, if you think you are capable of throwing a good party each month throughout the season please apply for the job, there will be a small reward involved for your effort). So there you have it, let’s all do our best to make the Awards & Birthdays Party Nights ‘Not To Be Missed’ at Skydive Delmarva this Season!
P.S. Martin’s birthday is in April (24th) and he says his trailer is chock full of past birthday gifts and he has no more room for indoor items, so those of you who wish to bring him gifts please make them cash or gifts for his garden and/or fishpond! ;-)

FREE COACHING & SKYDIVE ORGANIZING

This season, due to a change of status DZ Manager & Primary Freefall Cameraflyer Martin Evans will be better able to share with the jumpers at Skydive Delmarva his longtime experience as a Skydiving Coach and Skydive Organizer. Martin will be available to offer coaching tips & tricks and to help guide or organize your jumps in order that Skydive Delmarva jumpers may achieve better results and add more completion of goals to their skydiving resume's! This is a free service available to all at Skydive Delmarva, all you need do to take advantage of it is to let Martin know you’d like his input, he’ll be more than happy to help at whatever level you or your group may be at or aiming for!

STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER NEWS REGARDING SKYDIVE COACHING & ORGANIZING FOR FLATFLY & FREEFLY DISCIPLINES – COMING SOON!
