Hi Grant: I hope you are doing well and things are going good for you. Yes the rig is still for sale. All though I don't think I am doing the right thing selling the rig because I still like the rig very much and I might miss it when I start jumping again. I had to stop for a while do to some medical problems. I had 18 inches of my small intestine removed due to a blockage from some kind of growth. Not once but twice in a month. Now I need to wait for all the stapels to come out. Every six to eight weeks your small intestine renews it self and the stapels will come out that way. You simply shit them out over time. I get antibiotics every other week to ensure no infection as the stapels work out. Until then I can't jump. I will be back! But I feel at my age and the way the bones feel I think it would be a good idea if I went one size bigger in the reserve and main. The rig will hold a reserve 160 as it does now and it will hold the PD Optima 176. As for the main it will hold a ZP-170 of any brand, it has a PD-170 Sabra 2 in it now and it will hold a hybred of 190. But I am not sure if I would like the way a hybred flies. It is like going back in time useing the old f-111 fabric. If the rig doesn't sell I am going to demo some other canopy's to see what I like best in this rig. And to demo other canopy's with this rig just might be the best thing for me to do. So I am mixed on feelings when selling this rig. I had it custom made for me with all the bells and whistles and I really like how it works and easy packing and it seems like all the riser flaps and closing flaps never come loose and always close nice and tight. The rig never shows any wear or dirt for that matter. And god knows how many times I came in on my ass. But not a scratch on the rig. The Odyssey uses very good materials.
I am not giving up jumping at all. I love jumping and that is why I do it in the first place. Oh and by the way since I have you on the line. I just want you to know I saw who cut that person off at the dz that day and so did a couple other people. I could tell you who it was but I am not a rat. I will tell you this! I don't know how you can mistake a red jump suit for a white one if you saw what happened. And first of all I was 2nd to the last man down. Think very hard about that and try to remember what you saw that day. The next thing I would like to address with you is the fact of being accused of leaveing the seatbelt closed. I have been on that DZ for five years and never left a belt closed. I did learn the rules when I was trained and I do follow them. So do you really think after all that time jumping I would leave a belt closed, I don't think so I know better and never would of done that. So before you accuse me again make sure your facts are striaght or we could have a problem. If I am wrong about something and I do something wrong or stupid I would be the first to admit to you I was wrong when you address the issue with me. But if I am not wrong I will not except the fact of being wrong. What really suprised me was on those days some people who did see what happened and tried to tell you I was still in the air you didn't listen to them. The same thing when I was in the plane with the seat belts. There was plenty of belts not being use and I don't think any one check to see if any was closed or not. I know I didn't notice if any were closed, I just sit down in my place and grab a belt and snipped it on just like everyone else and then like I always do unsnap it and lay it flat on the floor. I don't dislike you Grant I think you are a good sky diver I just think you need to get your facts striaght before you accuse anyone in the future. It really bothered me being accuse of things I know in my heart I didn't do. So please be right before you accuse. If I am wrong trust me I will except it in front of everyone, I don't have a problem with that.
Blue Skies, Charlie |

Uh.... Okay. Great catching up with you again Charlie!
Wish I even really knew even 1/2 of whatever here now, all of a sudden it is, you all are talking about. Wow. I was hoping to only wish you the best and reach out to see what's up / how you are. Been awhile too since we've seen you is all!
Glad to hear you're on the mend, and that you'll be back. Here's to a full and speedy recovery! Hope to see you down the DZ then, again soon.
Blues,
-Grant |
