| Hello, real name is Scrappy 'MFD' & I'll be heading down to Laurel for a May 7th jump. I've been planning this since December & had a group of friends who wanted in, as many as 27 ppl, but everyone bowed out. I told everyone with or without you I'm going & I'm sticking to my plan as far as going a day earlier with my tent & camping out, meeting folks & having a great time. Looking forward to meeting everyone at Skydive Delmarva. |

Hey There Scrappy,
I was busy making my own reservation, and noticed your post about heading out to SD Delmarva alone. I will be at the dropzone that day, also alone -- not for AFF (yet), but for a tandem jump (my third there). For what it is worth, I ALWAYS have friends promise to go with me, and they ALWAYS back out. Good for you for going anyway! You will definitely find new friends there. I live in Texas, but keep coming back to SD Delmarva when I'm in the neighborhood, because they're good people, super-experienced, and a whole lot of fun. |

Hello LLATexas,
Thanks for the kind words. Although everyone backed out my cousin is still coming down with me even though he's not gonna jump that day (unexpected money issues). We're still gonna head down on Friday, pitch a tent, meet everyone & fire up the grill that night. If I have the money I'll pay for his jump or I'll jump again, either way we'll be there for awhile and hopefully we'll run into each other. Just look for the big tent & the guy wearing a Boonie hat. |

Hey Shaggy,
Don't worry about the people backing out. As LLATexas said that happens all the time. Too bad because they would have had a great time. Who knows, maybe they just need one of their friends to be the guinea pig and they'll come with you next time.
I'm one of the AFF instructors at Delmarva so maybe we'll get a jump together. If not we'll probably at least run into each other. Looking forward to it. Let's hope for good weather!

| Thanks Gregor, I never worry about people who back out. Talk is cheap & actions speak louder than words. Hoping that we will have good weather that weekend but planning on hanging out until I get my jump in. I'll be looking for & trying to meet everyone @ Delmarva as I have tons of questions. Also, for everyone who backed out, I'm having a shirt made that will be displayed as soon as possible after landing. |

| Thanks to everyone down @ Skydive Delmarva! My instructor, Bill Spangler, is 'The Man' for letting my daughter sit in on the training class with me. My jump masters, Ed Short & Joe Manlove, thanks for the comments you guys had while I was still in the air (overheard that from video my daughter got). Ian did a great job shooting the video & got some great pics, did break my concentration for a few secs (Joe had to give me the COA signal) but many thanks Ian. Special thanks to Dave Machette for the initial call back, helping me out with my situation that morning & specifically for bringing my daughter with him to the DZ to get some good pics (she's already counting down to when she can jump). Thought I wouldn't be able to jump because of the weather hold but finally got in on the sunset load. Can't say enough about the awesome day I had except I'll see you guys on May 21st........ |

Sorry to hear about the troubles Shaggy. But it'll make it that much sweeter when you get back in the sky. If it's cold and fizzy and it says beer on the can I can pretty much guarantee it will be enjoyed |
